I don't recall seeing all three fail to the extent of these results.

The program is progressively more aggressive as you go from Sharpen->Focus->Stabilize, and I rarely find Stabilize to be acceptable. I have used Sharpen AI quite a bit and the quality of the results depends a lot on the particular image. The results using Sharpen AI are much worse. I don't like the results for any of the Topaz processes.ĭeNoise is IMO the best but as you point out has some notable and unacceptable defects. I cropped to 1872x1498 rather than 2000x1500.Įdit: Changed my mind, I will add some comments. The results using the auto settings for the three sharpening modes are below. I downloaded your file and put them through Topaz Sharpen AI. How can I avoid that? If you right click on an image and select show in another tab (chrome) then it shows to scale. My images are not viewing at 100% - they are filling the frame here.

All Denoise options failed to clear up the halo noise remnants. The LR only image has noise reduction applied globally to remove noise and then noise reduction has been reduced on the bird using a brush, except for part of the beak (brush = noise -55, sharpen +34).įor the Denoise AI I tried various settings and the auto feature appeared to produce the best results, balancing the back feather detail and noise in the head.
TOPAZ STUDIO 2 WITH LIGHTROOM HOW TO
Suggestions on how to improve on this? Is this consistent with what you are seeing? I've read on another forum with people getting artifacts and NR being applied too much in parts of the image. I just checked and this applies to all Topaz products that I have. For example, if the folder name includes a √ (alt+251) it will not be opened. Just tried Topaz AI on a low-light photo of my dog and it produced an unusable result - blotchy tinted shadows with artifacts and completely misapplied NR on the detail elements.įYI Topaz Denoise AI does not work in unicode named folders or files in windows. Unfortunately no, I saw no reason to keep them.
